They are necessary for survival. These basic essential activities performed by an organism are called life processes. Important life processes include nutrition, transportation, metabolism, respiration, reproduction and excretion, which help in the maintenance of living organisms.

Two of them and their uses are:-
1) response to stimuli- humans react to different phenomena(situations). They react to heat, cold etc.
Ex-touching a hot vessel; Touching an engine after a long run etc.
2) Reproduction- All living beings reproduce to keep the continuity of generations of their future ones. They either give birth it lay eggs or in any other way to give life to youngsters.
Ex-(mammals like) whale, kangaroo, humans etc.
