1.Provide remote control for an attacker to use an infected machine.
2.Send spam from the infected machine to unsuspecting targets.
3.Investigate the infected user’s local network.
4.Steal sensitive data.

The term malware has been formed by the combination of two words "Malicious" and "Software". It is a type of software that is written and developed to create mischief or hurt the user.

There are various types of malware are :- Virus, Torjan Horses, Worms, Rootkits, Backdoors, Ransomware, Spyware, Adware and Scareware.
