Answer:

Qno:1 :Matter is anything that has weight and takes up space.

states of matter are solid, liquids, or gases.

Qno:2: shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching.

Qno:3: water cycle is the process of water moving around between the air and land. Or in more scientific terms: the water cycle is the process of water evaporating and condensing on planet Earth in a continuous process.

Three states of matter :-

  1. Solids
  2. Liquids
  3. Gases

Solids -

  • Solids have fixed shape and fixed volume.
  • Solids have high melting and boiling points.
  • The Diffusion of solids is very slow in Liquids.
  • Solids have any number of surfaces.
  • Solids do not flow.
  • Solids have small imterparticle distance but strong imterparticle forces of attraction.

Liquids -

  • Liquids have fixed volume but not fixed shape.
  • Liquids have lower boiling points than solids.
  • The diffusion is faster than solids.
  • Liquids have only one upper level surface.
  • Liquids possess higher compressibility than solids.
  • Liquids can flow.
  • Imterparticle distances larger than solids but smaller than those in gases whereas imterparticle forces weaker than those in solids but stronger than those in gas.

Gases -

  • Gases have neither fixed shape nor fixed volume.
  • Gases have low melting and boiling points.
  • The diffusion of gases is the fastest.
  • Gases have no surface.
  • Gases possess highest compressibility.
  • Gases can flow.
  • Imterparticle distances are the largest while imterparticle forces of attraction are the weakest.

  • We can change the shape of the solids by applying pressure, compressing , and applying force nd pressure.

  • Water cycle - The whole processin which water evaporates and falls on the land as rain and later flows back into sea via rivers is known as the water cycle.
