Four levels of measurement in psychology are:-

i. Ordinal:- a researcher wishing to measure consumers satisfication with their microwave ovens might ask them to specify their feeling dissatisfied,very dissatisfied or somewhat dissatisfied.The items in this scale are ordered ranging from satisfied.

ii. Nominal scales:- when measuring a nominal scale,one simply name or catogorises responses. Gender,handedness,favorite color are examples of variables measured on a nominial scale.

iii. Interval scales:- are numerical scales in which intervals have the same interpretation throughout .

iv. Ratio scales :- are the measurement of the most informative scales. It is an interval scale with the additional property that is zero indicates the absence of the quantity measured.
