MECHANICAL WEATHERING

Mechanical weathering is caused mostly by physical effects such as friction in which the coating or surface is slowly eroded away by water or abrasive materials in motion.

CHEMICAL WEATHERING

Chemical weathering is a chemical process, often initiated by UV light from the sun, or ozone/oxygen in the air. These agents cause chemical degradation of the surface layers which allows them to disintegrate. These processes, especially the UV initiated, can be very rapid—orders of magnitude faster than erosive mechanical degradation.

Mechanical weathering

Mechanical weathering involves physically breaking rocks into fragments without changing the chemical make-up of the minerals within it.

Chemical weathering

Chemical weathering involves a chemical change in at least some of the minerals within a rock

I hope this helps u!
