your metabolism is how much/ fast your body can digest food. Example: I can eat two bananas and still be hungry --> my metabolism is fast. My friend can only eat one ----> there metabolism is slower than mine.

Example - If a food is taken with some particular nutrients, it is broken down to simpler forms and used by the body.
