Answer:

A mineral is a naturally occurring inorganic element or compound having an orderly internal structure and characteristic chemical composition, crystal form, and physical properties.

Deposits of minerals form when a medium that contains and transports mineral-making ore releases and deposits the ore. Magma is one such medium that transports ores. When magma or lava cools, the magma and ore carried within it crystallize to form tiny minerals in the newly-created igneous rock.

A naturally occurring substance which has a certain chemical composition is a mineral. Minerals are not evenly dispersed over space. They are concentrated in a specific area or rock formations. Some minerals are found in areas which are not effortlessly accessible such as the Arctic ocean bed and Antarctica.

  • The methods in which minerals are formed are:
  • During the cooling of molten materials (steel, from lavas, igneous rocks)-Lava is on the surface so it chills quickly and forms rocks which are called mineral rocks. As the magma cools and hardens quickly, the crystals that form do not have time to grow very large, and so most extrusive rocks are superbly grained.
  • During the evaporation of liquids (salt, sugar, reference to evaporites) Evaporite is any of a type of individual minerals seen in the sedimentary deposit of soluble salts that fallouts from the evaporation of water. Rocks formed by the evaporation of water are called evaporites. This evaporation may happen in either shallow basins on land or in the sea.
  • The cooling of liquids (saturated solution) -The procedure of the crystallization of materials dissolved in water is added variation of this process, as when the liquids cool, they form crystals.
  • Lastly, minerals can be created from hot water solutions. Veins, narrow channels or slabs of a mineral that is different from the surrounding rock, can construct when a pure metal crystallizes from a hot water solution.

Minerals are formed in various types of geological environments, under changing conditions. They are formed by natural processes without any human interference.
