Meiosis- Reducton division in which the chromosome no is halved from diploid to haploid.
Mitosis- Nuclear division giving rise to genetically identical cells in which the chromosome no is maintained by the exact duplication of chromosomes.

MITOSIS:A process of cell division in which the parent cell makes two new daughter cells, each with the same number of chromosomes as the parent.

MEIOSIS: The form of cell division that creates gametes, or sex cells (eggs or sperm) is called meiosis. It is a special form of reproduction that results in four next-generation cells, rather than just two, from each cell.
