Advantages include the possibility of reducing risk, spreading labour and re-utilizing resources. The importance of these advantages and disadvantages differs according to the sociocultural preferences of the farmers and to the biophysical conditions as determined by rainfall, radiation, soil type and disease pressureMixed farming is an agricultural system in which a farmer conducts different agricultural practice together, such as cash crops and livestock. The aim is to increase income through different sources and to complement land and labour demands across the year.

 Mixed cropping is the growing of two or more crops simultaneously on the same piece of land.
Two advantages are :
 (i) Reduces risk
(ii) Gives variety in the crop field.
