Modulus of elasticity :

The ratio of stress and strain, is called MODULUS OF ELASTICITY.

There are 3 types of modulus of elasticity;

1 ). Young's modulus

2). Shear modulus

3 ). Bulk modulus

The modulus elasticity can be referred as the ratio of the stress in a body to the corresponding strain (as in bulk modulus, shear modulus, and Young's modulus) — called also coefficient of elasticity, elastic modulus.

calculations of modulus elasticity :-

Young's Modulus (E) or the modulus of elasticity is a measure of a materials stiffness. The higher the Young's modulusvalue the stiffer the material. Young's moduluscan be calculated from tensile test stress/strain graphs–derived from load/extension graphs.

Types:-What are the three types of modulus elasticity with there definition:-

1.Young's modulus (E) describes tensile elasticity, or the tendency of an object to deform along an axis when opposing forces are applied along that axis.
It is defined as the ratio of tensile stress to tensile strain. It is often referred to simply as the elastic modulus.
2.The shear modulus or modulus of rigidity (G or μ ) describes an object's tendency to shear (the deformation of shape at constant volume)  when acted upon by opposing forces.
It is defined as shear stress over shear strain. The shear modulus is part of the derivation of viscosity.
3.The bulk modulus (K) describes volumetric elasticity, or the tendency of an object to deform in all directions when uniformly loaded in all directions.
It is defined as volumetric stress over volumetric strain, and is the inverse of compressibility.
