The Mole

The mole is the unit of amount in chemistry.  It provides a bridge between the atom and the macroscopic amounts of material that we work with in the laboratory.  It allows the chemist to weigh out amounts of two substances, say iron and sulfur, such that equal numbers of atoms of iron and sulfur are obtained.  A mole of a substance is defined as:

The mass of substance containing the same number of fundamental units as there are atoms in exactly 12.000 g of 12C.

The molar mass of H is 1 ,bcoz atomic no of H is 1.other ex-molar mass of H2 is 2.

We can calculate the molar mass with the help of atomic number and atomic mass.

Molar mass=Number's of atom multiple with atomic mass of atom

H2=no of atom=2,atomic moss=1

H2=2For calculate the molar mass you have to remember the atomic mass of atom,gor atomic mass you can multiple the atomic number with 2 than you get average atomic mass. Like c=atomic number multiple with 2

c=6 multiple with 2=12(atomic mass of c).

For molar mass of C2=atomic moss multiple with no of atoms...

C2=12 multiple with 2=24.

If you want to calculate the molar mass of any compound u can calculate with the help of these example.

Ex-C6H12O6(glucose) for molar mass= in fig*..

1 mole is the amount of substance that contains as many particles are entitled as as there are atoms in exactly 12 gram of carbon 12 atoms
1 mole =6.22*10²³ atoms
molar mass = molar mass is the mass of all the atoms of a molecule in grams per mole
molar mass of hydrogen is 1u
