Dear,

MOMENTUM

MOMENTUM is defined as the product of mass and velocity!

it is denoted by 'p'.

and formula is given by :-

p=mv

Why MoMeNtuM?

cause it gives the direction of mass carrying speed and can be determined independently!

it occurs due to specific velocity of any object//mass.

IT IS A VECTOR QUANTITY !!

As mass is scalar and velocity is vector and when a vector and scalar get into product the come out to be vector as we know in minus plus method!

LETS UNDERSTAND IT BY MORE CLEARAnce.

Ques:- A BODY OF MASS 5 KG IS RUNNING OR MOVING WITH A VELOCTIY OF 10M/S . FIND THE MOMENTUM.

SO,

as described above,

we will find it by taking momentum="p"

p=m.v

=>5kg.10m/s

=>50kg.m/s

its unit is kilogram metre per second!

thanks!!
