Components of motherboard..

1. Sockets (or slots) in which one or more microprocessors may be installed. In the case of CPUs in ball grid array packages, such as the VIA C3, the CPU is directly soldered to the motherboard.

2. A chipset which forms an interface between the CPU's front-side bus, main memory, and peripheral buses

3.Non-volatile memory chips (usually Flash ROM in modern motherboards) containing the system's firmware or BIOS

4. Connectors for hard drives, typically SATAonly. Disk drives also connect to the power supply.

5. Additionally, nearly all motherboards include logic and connectors to support commonly used input devices, such as USB for mouse devices and keyboards

1. Processor Socket: The processor socket is the central part of a motherboard, usually located in the middle of the board. It is the core part because it houses the CPU – the computer's mind.
2. Power Connectors: Its function is to provide power to motherboard and all other components of a computer.
