Motion-The action or process of moving or changing the position
Types- 1 : Translational motion. Example- a train moving on the rails
2 : Vibrational motion. Example- the to and fro motion of the pendulum in the wall clock
3 : Rotational motion. Example - Rotating blades of an electric fan.

Hey friend,
Motion is the change of position of a body with time, with respect to a stationary body.
Motions are of three types:
TRANSLATORY MOTION - if a body moves as a whole, such that every part of the body travels through the same distance in a given time, the body is in translatory motion.
Translatory motion is of two types-
RECTILINEAR- if a body moves along in a straight line it is said to be in rectilinear motion. Eg. A car moving along a straight line.
CURVILINEAR- if a body moves along a curved line, it is said to be in curvilinear motion. Eg. Car at a U-turn.
----------------------------------------------
CIRCULAR MOTION - the motion of a body in a circular path along a fixed point or a fixed axis is known as circular motion.
Circular motion are of two types:
ROTATION- if the body turns without shifting its position from one place to another, its motion is called rotation.
REVOLUTION- if the body moves as a whole around in a circular path, the motion is known as revolution.
----------------------------------------------
OSCILLATORY MOTION- when a body moves to-and-fro about a fixed point, it is said to be in oscillatory motion or vibratory motion.
Oscillatory motion is of three types:
REPETITIVE- if the same motion occurs again and again, it is said to be repetitive motion.
PERIODIC- a repetitive motion that takes place at regular intervals of time is periodic motion.
NON-PERIODIC- motion that is not periodic is known as non-periodic motion.
