multiple alleles exist in a population when there are many variations of a gene present. In organisms with two copies of every gene, also known as diploid organisms, each organism has the ability to express two alleles at the same time. They can be the same allele, which is called a homozygous genotypeExamples of Multiple Alleles Coat Color in CatsFruit Flies

Thanks for your question !

♦ Multiple Alleles : Multiple Alleles simply is referred as Multiple genes. Three or more forms of genes and that is alleles is called multiple alleles. These alleles occupy same locus which is present in a organism.

It means, multiple alleles occur when two alleles or genes occupy or cover up thee given locus. In the phenotype, for every trait, we end up with only two alleles or two genes in order to we inherit half of our alleles.

♣ Example of Multiple Alleles :

1] Blood type - Blood type is in existence of four phenotypes. Which are known, A, B, O and AB. ABO system of blood groups is controlled by three alleles, but only two alleles that is, genes are present in a single organism.

We found many times (over thousands of cases as for India), about that genes or alleles have multiple phenotype effect. Thus otherwise, it has wrong mutations occurred diseases. Such as, Sickle cell anaemia & Mangolism.
