Nephron is the smallest functional unit of our kidney or the smallest functional unit that helps in eliminating undigested and unwanted waste from our body.
It consists of glomerulus and tubule like PCT, DVR and loop of henle or the loop of nephron through which the glomerular filtrate passes before emerging as urine.
The nephron carries out nearly all of the kidney's functions. Most of these functions concern the reabsorption of various solutes such as ions , carbohydrate , and amino acids so that only the waste materials are thrown out not the useful ones.

A nephron is the basic unit of structure in the kidney. A nephron is used separate to water, ions and small molecules from the blood, filter out wastes and toxins, and return needed molecules to the blood. The nephron functions through ultrafiltration.
