The nervous system detects environmental changes that impact the body, then works in tandem with the endocrine system to respond to such events. ... In vertebrates it consists of two main parts, the central nervous system(CNS) and the peripheral nervous system(PNS). The CNS consists of the brain and spinal cord.

NERVOUS SYSTEM:
Nervous system helps in controlling and coordinating various activities and the functions in the body that enable an organism to respond to various stimuli .

IMPORTANCE OF NERVOUS SYSTEM:
⏩Controls and coordinates various activities and functions of different organs and organ system in the body regulates both voluntary and involuntary activities of the body
⏩ Enables us to adjust the environment or situation to think reason and remember
⏩Controls all the reflex actions of the body
⏩A neuron is the basic structure and the functional unit of nervous system carry messages in the form of the electrical signals called as nerve impulse

THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF NEURONS :

1] SENSORY NEURONS:
A sensory neurone carries impulses from receptors to brain or spinal cord

2] MOTAR NEURONS:
A motor neurones carry impulses from the brain or spinal cord to effectors

3] MIXED NEURONS:
Mixed neurone carries both stimulus and response impulses
