Answer:

Neurons (also called neurones or nerve cells) are the fundamental units of the brain and nervous system, the cells responsible for receiving sensory input from the external world, for sending motor commands to our muscles, and for transforming and relaying the electrical signals at every step in between.....

\: neuron

Our nervous system system consist of brain, spinal cord, sense receptors and whole lot of nerves.

The brain and the spinal cords are made of nerve cell.

structure \: of \: the \: neuron

Mostly there are 3 parts of neuron

  1. cell body
  2. dendrites
  3. axon

cell \: \: \: body

  • They are also know as Perikaryon or Cyton
  • It contains a well-defined nucleus.
  • The nucleus is surrounded by granular cytoplasm.
  • It too has cell organelles like other cell.
  • Centrosomes is absent because nerve cells have lost the ability to devide.

dendrites

  • They are like tree branch.
  • These are branched cytoplasmic projection of the cell body.
  • The main work is to conduct nerves impulses to the cyton.

axon

  • Axon terminals are closely placed near dendrites of another one or more neurons but are not connected.
  • The axon is a long processer of cell body.
  • Some axons may have side branch called collateral.

hope its helpful❣️❣️
