The reaction in which an acid and a base react to produce salt and water is called neutralisation reaction.
NaOH + HCl ---> NaCl + H2O
(BASE) +(ACID) --->(SALT) +(WATER)

Mg(OH)2 + 2HCl --> MgCl2 + 2H2O
