An object that has uniform velocity is said to be traveling at constant velocity.

An object that is traveling at variable velocity, means that the object's velocity is changing, varying, non-constant, etc. This means the object has an acceleration as the definition of acceleration is rate of change of velocity.

Answer:

  • Variable velocity, velocity in which the space described varies from instant, either increasing or decreasing; -- in the former case called accelerated velocity, in the latter, retarded velocity; the acceleration or retardation itself being also either uniform or variable.
