Answer: An organism is a living substance that functions as an individual entity and it can live on its own.

Organisms are classified into two groups: -

  • Multicellular Organisms
  • Unicellular Organism

Multicellular Organisms - These includes organism which is made up of more than one type of cell and each and every cell has their own function. Examples of the same are - plants, human beings, etc

Unicellular Organism - This includes single-celled organisms, unlike the multi-cellular organism all the functions are performed by a single cell. Examples of the same are - bacteria, archaea, etc
