Hi friend, Here is the required answer:-

OSMOSIS is a process in which the flow of water from a high concentration to a low concentration takes place through a semi-permeable membrane.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OSMOSIS AND DIFFUSION:-

1. OSMOSIS can occur only in a liquid state but DIFFUSION can occur in all states i.e. solids, liquids and gases.

2. OSMOSIS requires a semi-permeable membrane but DIFFUSION can occur in any medium.

Hope this helps you...

tendency of water to pass through semipermeable membrane into a solution where the solvent concentration is higher.
difference is
1)diffusion occurs in all the medium but osmosis occur only in liquid.
2)diffusion don't want semipermeable membrane but osmosis want semipermeable membrane
3)diffusion does not depend upon solute potential but osmosis depends upon solute potential
