define oxidation and reducation reaction in terms of loss or gain in hydrogen please help me I will put it in brain liest

sagar10031: oxidation reaction = adding of oxygen or removal of hydrogen
sagar10031: 2Cu + O2 = 2CuO
sagar10031: reduction reaction = adding of hydrogen or removal of oxygen
sagar10031: CuO + H2 = Cu + H2O

Reduction is the loss of oxygen atom from a molecule or the gaining of one or more electrons. A reduction reaction is seen from the point of view of the molecule being reduced, as when one molecule gets reduced another gets oxidised.

If a chemical substance gains oxygen or loses hydrogen, it is called oxidation. Oxidation is also defined as addition of oxygen to an element or compound and the removal of hydrogen from a compound. There is a loss of electrons.

For example,

☯ 2Mg + O2 => 2MgO [Addition of Oxygen]

☯ 2Hcl => Cl2 [Removal of Hydrogen]
