Plants make sugar (glucose), a complex compound, from carbon dioxide and water, in the presence of chlorophyll by using light energy. This process is called Photosynthesis.

This is a process in which six molecules of carbon dioxide, six molecules of water form one glucose molecule and six molecules of oxygen.

Its takes in the carbon dioxide produced by all breathing organisms and reintroduces oxygen into the atmosphere.
