The process by which some green plants and some other organism used sunlight to synthesize nutrients and carbon dioxide and water is called Photosynthesis.
Light reaction to produce organic energy molecules (ATP and NADPH). They are initiated by colored pigaments, Mainly Green Coloured Chlorophylls. Dark Reaction make use of this organic energy molecules (ATP and NADPH). This reaction cycle is also called Calvin Bension Cycle, And it occurs in the storma.

Hey mate here is your answer:-
Photosynthesis is a process in which plants make there own food in the presence of light, chlorophyll, water and carbon-dioxide. Photosynthesis takes part very actively in day time as its name suggest 'photo' which means light. It can make its food only at day time. But during night time, it does not photosynthesize and hence no reaction occurs.
Hope this helps you...
