Photosynthesis takes in the carbon dioxide produced by all breathing organisms and reintroduces oxygen into the atmosphere. Photosynthesis is the process used by plants, algae and certain bacteria to harness energy from sunlight and turn it into chemical energy.

Leaves prepare their food in the presence of sunlight and a green coloured substance present in them which is known as chlorophyll . For this, they use water and carbon dioxide from air. This process is known as photosynthesis. oxygen is given out in the process. The food prepared by leaves ultimately gets stored in different parts of the plant.

reactions are- carbon dioxide + water + energy produces oxygen and glucose.

Hope this will help you
