A pie chart displays data, information, and statistics in an easy-to-read 'pie-slice' format with varying slice sizes telling you how much of one data element exists.
THE STEPS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PIE CHART ARE:-
● Find the central angle for each component using the formula given on the previous page.
● Draw a circle of any radius.
● Draw a horizontal radius
● Starting with the horizontal radius, draw radii, making central angles corresponding to the values of respective components.
● Repeat the process for all the components of the given data.
● These radii divide the whole circle into various sectors.
● Now, shade the sectors with different colours to denote various components.
● Thus, we obtain the required pie chart.

Statistical data can also be represented in the form of pie chart.
Steps for the construction of a pie diagram :
1. Take the total value of all the terms equal to 360°
2. Convert each component of the data into degrees using the following formula.
Degree of any component =( Component value / total value ) x 360°
3. Draw a circle with appropriate radius.
4. Mark the angles at the centre of the circle and draw the sectors.
