Polarization, is an expression of the orientation of the lines of electric flux in an electromagnetic field ( EM field ). It specifies the geometrical orientation of the oscillations ["Orientation" means how it's positioned with respect to different directions. For example, you could draw an isosceles triangle with the base at the bottom, the top, or one side--those are different orientations. ("Orienting" is deciding which direction something faces.) ].
