Self pollination : Self pollination is the transfer of the pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of either same or genetically similar flower.
Cross pollination : Cross pollination is defined as the deposition of pollen grains from anther to stigma of a different or another plant of same or different species .
Pollination: The transfer of pollen grains from another to the stigma of the flower is called as pollination.
Two main types of pollination are:
1. self pollination:-
Self-pollination is a type of pollination which occurs in a single flower or two flowers on a single plant.
It is the transfer of pollen grains from anther to the stigma of the same flower or a different flower produced on the same plant.
2. cross pollination:-
It is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther of one flower to the stigma of another flower of different plants of same species.
It is the transfer of pollen grains from anther of a flower to the stigma of another flower produced on a different plant having dissimilar genetic make-up, with the help of external agents like wind, water, insects, etc.
