Geo tropism is the motion of object with respect to gravity.

In case of plants for example:-

The roots move down toward the earth and this motion is with respect to the gravity hence it is positive geotropism.

While the shoots of the plants move towards the upper direction that is away from the gravity hence it is negative geotropism
