Firstly the term geotropism means the plans response to stimuli towards the gravitation of earth.

Positive geotropism is when the roots grow towards the direction of gravity i.e. downwards(E.g. root part of any plant).

Negative geotropism is when the shoot or upper part of the plant grows against the direction of gravity i.e. upwards.(E.g. shoot part of any plant)
