aloha user!!
_________
potential energy is the energy which gets stored in particular object when it is kept at certain height such that the gravitational force also acts on it.
it is usually written as being a stored energy.
so the types include:
◆ gravitational energy => due to gravity.
◆ chemical energy=> which is present in the form of bonds in compounds.
◆ nuclear energy=> which is stored in the nucleus of atom.
◆ elastic energy => it includes:
• compression of gas or liquid.
• coiled spring
• stretching elastic band

Potential energy is energy that an object has because of its position relative to other objects. It is called potential because it has the potential to be converted into other forms of energy, such as kinetic energy. Potential energy is usually defined in equations by the capital letter U or sometimes by PE.
There are two main types of Potential energy:
- Gravitational Potential energy
- Elastic Potential energy
