Power is the rate of doing work . Its a scaler quantity
whose formula is
Power = Work / time
So it depends on the time in which the work is done

work done per unit time is known as power. In other words capacity to do any work is called power.
P = W / t = joule/ sec
i. e 1 watt may be defined as the power applied to produce 1 joule energy per second.
