Answer:Prashasti inscriptions are euologistic inscriptions issued by Indian rulers from 6th century CE onwards. Written in form of poetry or ornate prose, the prashastis were generally composed by the court poets.

             Harisena, the court poet of Samudragupta has mentioned the four different rulers in the prashasti. Samudragupta's policy toward them is as follows: The rulers of Aryavarta (Kanauj, Pataliputra, Prayaga, Mathura and Nalanda) were some nine rulers. These kingdoms were made part of Samudragupta's empire.
