- Preparation of the soil is an important step in before cultivation of crops. This type of agriculture practise includes loosening of the soil which helps in the growth of earthworms and certain microbes present in the soil and adds humus to it this allows the roots to breathe easily when they penetrate deep into the soil.
- Sowing is another agricultural activity and is most important part of the crop production. Before sowing, good quality seeds are selected which gives high yield one of the easy method of separating damaged seeds from good seeds is to put the seeds in some water, the damaged seeds become hollow and float on water while the better on would sink. Some tools are used to sowing seeds such as traditional tool, Seed drill etc. It ensures that the seeds get covered by the soil after sowing.
- Weeding is a method of removal of weeds, these are undesirable plants grow naturally along with the crop. Weeding is useful since weeds compete with the crop plants fro water, space, nutrients and light. Thus affects the growth of the healthy crop. These weeds are removed manually by uprooting or cutting them close to the ground. The chemical methods includes use of chemicals such as Glyphophate.
