Define programmable and non programmable registers with examples

Programmable : Stored Program Computer. This computer can execute programs inside the memory. This enabled programming on the computer. However, this computer have security problems. Computer Virus can exist due to the programmable computer. You can download software in the Internet, and execute it in your PC. The same thing happens to computer virus.

Non-programmable : Not-Stored Program Computer. About electrical computer, this can be coded only by soldiering. FPGAs and Digital/Analog Circuit are the computer like this. The world fist electrical computer ENIAC was programed by soldiering. Also , D-Wave, a world first industrial quantum computer is type of this kind of computer. This type of computer is becoming popular these days to due the A.I. and big data. If you are processing big datas, then Stored Program Computer have bottleneck executing programs. However, Non-stored program computers are faster for data processing purpose.
