PROKARYOTES :

Those organisms in which their organelles are not surrounded by any kind of membrane are known as Prokaryotes.

Organelles like Endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi Bodies, Plastids, Mitochondria are absent in them. It is because these organelles have membrane surrounding it.

However, prokaryotes have the organelle Ribosomes. Ribosomes do not have any outer membrane. It is a non-membrane bound organelle.

It has been seen that most of the prokaryotic organisms has cell wall for protection and maintaining their shape and structure.

Some examples of Prokaryotes or Prokaryotic organisms are : Bacteria, Protozoa, Cyanobacteria, etc.
