psychology is a science that studies various mental processes, behaviours and experiences in different context.
(a)mental processes:- it is an internal awareness of brain. mind emerges and evolves as our interactions and experiences in this world increases.
example:- remembering, thinking, perceiving, feeling etc.
(b)behaviours:- they are the responses or reactions we make or activities we indulge in.
they are of 2 types:
overt behaviours- which are visible or are external and can be seen outwardly by an observer.
example: when something is hurled at us we blink our eyes as a result of reflex actions.
covert behaviours- which are not visible or are internal and cannot be seen by the observer.
example: while playing a game of chess in a difficult situation we often feel our hand muscles twitching, wanting to experiment with a new move.
(c) experiences:- they are subjective in nature and depend from person to person. the nature of an experience can be understood by analyzing a set of internal and external conditions.
example: travellng in a crowded bus during a hot summer day may not make you feel uncomfortable if traveling with some close friends for a picnic.
