Pythagoras theorem is that the square on the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle is equal in area to the sum of the squares on the other two sides. For better understanding let us take a right angled triangle ABC, suppose that AB is the hypotenuse of this triangle a.k.a longest side of a right-angled triangle which is at opposite of the right angle. So here the measurement of

AB²= BC²+CA². To find AB, we add BC² and CA² and then find the root of their sum.

To make it more clear, let us assume that the measurement of BC is 6cm and CA is 8cm. We have to find AB. So we will do it like,

AB²= BC²+CA²

AB²= 6²+8²

AB²= 36+64

AB²= 100

AB= √100

AB= 10cm

Hence we found the measurement of the hypotenuse.

Hope u understood!!
