A gas which doesn't follow ideal gas behaviour that is obeying all gas laws at any temperature and pressure is called as real gas.

Special Points:-

  • Real gases have a very low pressure.
  • These gases have high temperature.
  • On considering the compressibility factor(z),
  • The compressibility factor (z) is ;
  • Z = PV/nRT
  • So For real gas, z≠1
  • So, PV≠nRT.

Real gases are nonideal gases whose molecules occupy space and have interactions; consequently, they do not adhere to the ideal gas law.
