Recoiling of a gun
When a shot is fired from a gun, the shot acquires a large forward momentum due to the explosion of the gun powder. The backward motion of a gun is called recoil of a gun. The velocity with which a gun is recoiling is called recoil velocity.
Let M be mass of gun, V be recoil velocity of gun, m be mass a shot and v be velocity of a shot. then.
MV+mv=0
MV= -mv
V= -mv/ M
The negative sign shows gun is recoiling.

When a shot is fired from a gun, the shot acquires a large forward momentum due to the explosion of the gun powder. The backward motion of a gun is called recoil of a gun.

The velocity with which a gun is recoiling is called recoil velocity.

Let M be mass of gun, V be recoil velocity of gun, m be mass a shot and v be velocity of a shot. then.

MV+mv=0

MV= -mv

V= -mv/ M

The negative sign shows gun is recoiling.
