A reducing sugar is any sugar that is capable of acting as a reducing agent because it has a free aldehyde group or a free ketone group.

All monosaccharides are reducing sugars.This includes common  monosaccharides  like galactose, glucose, glyceraldehyde, fructose, ribose, and xylos.

Sugar level in our body is regulate by an enzyme called insulin. Insulin is secreted by pancreas . Hence, more secretions of insulin led to the reduction in sugar level.
