A reflex, or reflex action, is an involuntary and nearly instantaneous movement in response to a stimulus. ... The reflex is then an automatic response to a stimulus that does not receive or need conscious thought.

A reflex, or reflex action, is a spontaneous and nearly immediate movement in acknowledgment to a stimulus. A reflex is made tolerable by neural pathways described as reflex arcs which can act on an incentive before that impulse strikes the brain. Example, on encountering a warm object (stimulus), we promptly remove our hand from it. Other examples from daily life are a sprinkling of mouth on viewing food, sneezing, peeping of eyes and yawning.
