The relative density of a substance is defined as the ratio of the density of that substance to the density of water at 4oC. It is also defined as the ratio of the mass of substance to the mass of equal volume of water at 4oC. i.e., R.D. = Mass of the substance / mass of an equal volume of water at 4oC.

jaisawant09: The ratio of density of the substance to the density of water at 4℃ is known as relative density of the substance

Relative Density of a subtance
RD = density of subtance/density of water at 4℃

Relative density has no units it's a pure number

Hey, here is your answer

Relative density is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a slandered, usually water for a liquid, or solid and air for a gas.

Formula - mass of the substance / mass of the volume.

Hope it helps you
