Here is your answer mate ----

Resistance is defined as the opposition to the flow of electrical current through a conductor. It's important to point out that conductivity and resistivity (the property that determines final resistance) are inversely proportional. The more conductive something is, the less resistance it will have.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU.

Define resistance of a conductor.?

\Large\bold\star\underline{\underline\textbf{Resistance of a conductor\:}}

→ The resistance of a conductor is defined as the obstruction offered by the conductor to the flow of electric current.

» According to ohm's law

» R = V / I

» R = Resistance
» V = Potential difference
» I = Current flowing

→ Therefore , resistance of the conductor (R) may be defined as the ratio of the potential difference (V) between the two ends of the conductor to the current ( I ) flowing through it.

\Large\bold\star\underline{\underline\textbf{Cause of resistance\:}}

→ Resistance of the conductor is due to the collision of electrons with the atoms / ions of the conductor , while drifting towards the positive and of the conductor.

→ Resistance of the conductor depends upon the dimensions.

» i.e.

1). Length ( L )
2). Cross-section area ( A ) of the conductor and also the nature of the material of the conductor.

Hope it helped u.
