• Resistance can be defined as the obstacle in the path of current in a circuit, It gets influenced by the length, area and material of the conductor.

• The resistance which takes place or gets influenced by the material of the conductor (say wire) is called the resistivity. So, It is the special resistance which only deals with the material with which a conductor is made.

• Resistance and Resistivity are related as Resistance depends upon length, area of cross section of the conductor and material of the conductor and material of conductor is on which resistivity depends, So this is how they both are interlinked.

resistance \:  =  \frac{rho \times length}{area}

where, rho refers to resistivity.

• Resistance increases when temperature increases, in this way, Resistance is directly proportional to the temperature of the conductor.
