There are two types of resources on the basis of status of development-

• Actual resources- Actual resources are those , which have been surveyed and their quantity is determined.These resources are currently being used.

For example - Petroleum and natural gas obtained from field offshore fields.

• Potential resources- Potential resources are those which exist in a region and may be used in future. Their quantity isn't estimated and they aren't current in use.

For example - Uranium deposits found in Laddakh is an example of potential resources.
