QUESTION :-

Define respiration ?

ANSWER :-

The process in which the digested food is oxidised to release energy is called as respiration....

KNOW MORE :-

It is of two types :-

1. Aerobic 2. Anaerobic

Aerobic respiration :-

  • It the presence of Oxygen and occurs in mitochondria.
  • Glucose is completely broken down into Carbondioxide and water.
  • It releases more energy.
  • It occurs in most of the organisms in the higher forms of the life....

Anaerobic Respiration :-

  • It occurs in the absence of the oxygen in the cytoplasm.
  • It results in the incomplete oxidation of glucose into lactic acid in the animals and tetheye acids in the plants.
  • It releases lesser energy.
  • It takes places in the certain bacteria , yeast , and certain tissues of the higher organisms, in humans during vigorous muscular exercise. When the demand of oxygen is more than the supply ; muscles start respiring anaerobically temporarily.
