\textbf{\large{\underline{\underline{Respiration :}}}}

• Respiration is a complete process by which oxygen is taken into the body , transported to the cell and used to break down glucose to release energy with the production of waste products such as water and carbon dioxide.

In other words :

The process of taking air in , exchanging the much needed gases with waste gases and then using the needed gases.

There are 2 types of respiration :

\textbf{\large{\underline{\underline{Aerobic Respiration}}}}

\textbf{\large{\underline{\underline{Anaerobic Respiration}}}}

\textbf{\small{\underline{Aerobic Respiration}}}

• The breaking down of food (Glucose) into carbon dioxide and water using oxygen is aerobic respiration.

• Most living organism such as humans, animals , plants and fungi show aerobic mode of respiration.

The process of Anaerobic Respiration :

Glucose + Oxygen ———⟩⟩ Carbon dioxide + Water + Energy.

\textbf{\small{\underline{Anaerobic Respiration }}}

• The breaking down of food without the usage of oxygen is Anaerobic Respiration.

• Anaerobic respiration is seen in organisms such as yeast and certain bacteria.

• Anaerobic respiration release less energy in comparison to Aerobic respiration.

The process of Anaerobic Respiration :

Glucose ———⟩⟩ Ethyl alcohol + Carbon dioxide + Energy
