A rhombus is a trapezium, but a special kind. A trapezium is a quadrilateral with one pair of parallel sides. If the parallel sides are equal it is a parallelogram and the other two sides are parallel. Conversely, if both pairs of opposite sides are parallel, opposite sides are also equal.
